Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand with a population of 1.7 million.

Day 24th & 25th - Arrived on January 30th at Auckland for two days. It has one of the most beautiful ports in the world. Our ship docked right into the business and shopping center of the city

Day 27 - Arrived in Rotorua (Tauranaga) for 2 days on Thursday February 1st

Rotorua was formed by a visible non active volcano. Took a tour of the local Maori tribe village. It was very interesting as the Maori live in two worlds together; Maori and modern society. Many have schools where native tongue is the school language and they are taught English.

Louella decided to take native dancing class. Due to her copyright claims, I can only display the first 20 seconds. (Refresh the web page if video does not play).

Because of her dancing skills, the tribe adopts her.

Day 31 - Arrived in Wellington the capital of New Zealand. It was a Sunday, so most stores were closed. We found one interesting Chinese restaurant; "License Chinese Restaurant. Does it mean they can sell exotic meats (dogs, cats, snakes)?

Nothing crazy, just means they can serve alcohol.

Day 32 - It took several times for the cruise ship to make it to the docking port because of the strong currents. We went to Nelson Class Car Museum that has over 150 vintage cars, some of which are over 115 years old. Louella decided she liked the 2024 red Corvette.

In leaving New Zealand, I would like to show the national dance which is the Maori war Haka chant that is often used by the soccer team. (You may need to refresh the web page to view YouTube video)

Next stop is Australia which is 1,300 miles by direct flight but much longer by ship because of sea currents.
